Job description

Helio Health is on a mission to treat and promote recovery from the effects of substance use, mental health disorders, and other behavioral healthcare issues. To support the mission of Helio Health, the Alternatives to Incarceration Program (ATIP) Counselor will work alongside the Onondaga County Probation Department providing assessment, referral, and case management services for the identified probation population. The Alternatives to Incarceration Program (ATIP) Counselor will work on a Full-Time basis as part of Helio Health’s In-Community division. Opportunity for hybrid work available!

Pay Rate: $23.37- $25.97 per hour.

In addition to Helio Health’s comprehensive benefits package, Full-Time hires for this position are eligible for a Sign-On Incentive up to $1,500!

• Conduct assessment, referral, and case management services for the identified probation population.
• Provide services at various locations including in community locations and the jail.
• Provide individualized recovery case management service planning.

• Bachelors degree in a human service field with demonstrated steady progress towards QHP status (CASAC-T or enrolled in a MSW or Mental Health Counseling Masters or equivalent licensure-oriented program).
  • Relevant work experience will also be considered. 
• Two years’ experience working with individuals with mental health required, substance use or co-occurring disorders.
• Have extensive knowledge of the criminal justice system.
• Must have a valid drivers license.
