Accounts Payable Representative

Utilities Team

Full Time / On-Site

Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm (flexible)

$17.00 Hourly Rate

Entry level position on the accounts payable utilities team responsible for accurately processing vendor utility invoices and payments through our accounts payable system. Perform accounting and clerical duties related to the efficient maintenance and processing of accounts payable transactions.

• Process large volumes of invoices and RFPs accurately to ensure accuracy of G/L coding, proper approvals are received, and review outstanding balances.
• Prepare invoices for scanning and attach to the supplier.
• Open, prepare and upload utility invoices into Oracle.
• Code invoices using Select Medical chart of accounts. Seek assistance from AP Team Lead, as needed, to ensure accurate coding.
• Ensure proper documentation is obtained for Request for Payments (RFP) and ensure previously entered invoices are attached to the supplier record.
• Prepare checks.
• Audit invoices for accuracy and completeness. 
• Research vendor inquiries and discrepancies. Flag and clarify any unusual or questionable invoice items or prices.
• Conduct End of Month reporting while meeting deadlines.

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Intermediate skills using Microsoft Office Excel, Outlook (or equivalent) and Word (with an emphasis on Excel).
• Basic Math Skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and possess a personal sense of urgency.
• Organized and detail oriented.
• Ability to work under the pressure of deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with a multiple subsidiary operating structure environment.
• Previous experience in Accounts Payable.
• Familiarity with accounting software.
