HIM TECHNICIAN

Position Summary : The Health Information Management Technician participates as an integral member of the records management team by ensuring the quality maintenance of patient information/medical records, within all laws, rules and regulations of federal and state licensing agencies, and TJC standards for the quality of patient care.

Qualifications

HIM Job Requirements:

Education : Graduate from a Health Information Management program preferred; high school graduate or equivalent with some college courses required. 

Experience: At least two (2) years experience in health care information management/medical records and a thorough knowledge of medical terminology required.  Familiarity with ICD 9/10 coding.
