Job description

Job Duties:

The position consists of 30% admin support , 30% procurement , 30% communication , 10% travel coordination and reimbursement.

• Support the grant team (PI Dr. Lazorick, co-I Dr. Hall, and Project Director Jami Frazier) with various admin activities to support intervention admin and financing in 40-50 schools. duties include:
• Tracking participating schools' commitment/MOUs (addresses, contacts, etc.)
• Closing out activities from the 2023-24 yr.
• Assist with planning and ordering for the 2024-25 yr.
• Coordinating bid process for ordering all supplies for > 600p participants at > 40 schools
• Managing school/district reimbursement for coord. stipends work with SNAP -Ed partners and the Chop Chop magazine to coord 23-24 special issue, and orders for schools
• Assisting with staff travel arrangements during the summer and fall training activities

The position will be from a remote location (with occasional need to be on-site in Greenville, NC)

Organizational Unit Overview:

The organizational unit is the Division of Academic Affairs of the Department of Public Health at the Brody School of Medicine. Our Department of Public Health is committed to educating professionals and conducting research to improve the health of communities in our region and beyond. We practice a combination of science and social approaches to reduce disease and systematically address the multiple determinants of health. Our work is rooted in strong partnerships with the community, health and social services, industry and business, and academia.

The evidence-based study and practice of Public Health have never been more important as our region, state, nation, and world face the combined crises of the COVID -19 pandemic and climate change. It is time to break down silos, build partnerships and forge alliances to address these challenges.

Eastern North Carolina has significant health burdens, especially in the rural, low-resource, and racial and ethnic minority communities. Many of these issues are brought to light through environmental impacts in our region, such as natural disasters and climate change, and are impacted substantially by the social determinants of health. Addressing these health threats and the disparities that stem from them are the driving forces for our teaching, research, and service.

Learning opportunities of the department include:

• Two online Certificate programs
• The Master of Public Health degree program with three concentrations (which can be completed online)
• Two doctoral degrees: the DrPH programs in Health Policy, Administration, and Leadership and Environmental and Occupational Health.

Public Health is collaborative in research and service and work with local, regional, state, and national public health and healthcare agencies and works closely with and are guided by a diverse group of Community Advisory Board members who lend their expertise to help us achieve program goals.
