The New "Smiling Faces Learning Center" is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Preschool - Lead Teacher to join our growing family in Prince George's County, Maryland! With a capacity for 138 children and exciting plans for additional locations, this is your chance to grow with our new management team and help shape the future of early childhood education.
Position: Preschool - Lead Teacher
Location: Prince George County, Maryland
What You'll Do: - Lead the way! Oversee the daily operations of our vibrant learning center, where smiles and laughter are always on the agenda.
- Bring learning to life! Create and implement engaging and developmentally appropriate programs for children ranging from infancy to school age.
- Inspire greatness! Mentor and support our team of passionate teachers, helping them to shine as they guide young minds on their educational journey.
- Be a champion! Build strong relationships with families, providing them with the support and reassurance they need as partners in their child's education.
- Keep the wheels turning! Manage administrative tasks with ease, from budgets and schedules to enrollment and compliance, ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.
What You'll Bring:
- A heart for children and a passion for education!
- MSDE qualifications, including a high school diploma or equivalent, along with relevant certifications or college courses.
- Experience in early childhood education and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
- A knack for communication and collaboration, a dash of creativity, and a sprinkle of fun!
- A can-do attitude and the ability to juggle multiple tasks with a smile.
- ADA training, CDA certifications, and specialized training in Preschool is a plus!
MSDE Required Qualifications and Certifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent, with certification or college courses.
- Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or 4-year college degree.
Additional Training Requirements:
- Completion of 9 clock hours in communication.
- Completion of 40-45 hours of administrative training.
- Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) training.
Preschool Certifications/Training Required:
- CPR/First Aid Certification & Background Check
- Completion of 90 clock hours in Early Childhood curriculum and development.
- Preschool Child Development Associate (CDA) certification.
- Completion of 3 semesters or 45 hours (or equivalent) of Preschool Development training.
- Completion of three semesters or 45 hours (or equivalent) of Preschool Curriculum training.
- 1 to 2 years of experience in the field.
- 1 year of college or combination (for Preschool Teacher Only).

Operating Hours:
Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 6:00 pm. Weekend Care Options May Be Available!
All applicants must receive approval from the Office of Childcare. MSDE will assess each candidate's qualifications, certifications, and relevant information. A Personal Qualification Evaluation Card will be provided to our management team from OCC before commencing employment.
