Summer Intern Program duration: May 28 - August 2, 2024

Position: Summer Internship - Compliance

As a member of the Webster Risk organization, Corporate Compliance is responsible for managing a comprehensive Compliance Management System and program to identify, measure and monitor regulatory compliance risk. The Compliance intern will:

• Develop analytical reports for the high and critical-rated compliance regulations, including fair lending, privacy, and flood
• Research and identify regulatory changes that impact Webster Bank’s products and services.
• Analyze the alignment of the Compliance Board and Management policies compared to the law, rule, regulation, and guidance data in the compliance controls inventory
• Develop graphs and charts to enhance information presented for the Regulatory Compliance Committee
• Assist in developing standard review, reconciliation, quality control, and quality assurance programs for the key first line control officers for compliance risk management

Location:  Jericho, NY, White Plains, NY or NYC

Education, Skills, and Experience Requirements for Interns:

• Current undergraduate rising Junior or Senior enrolled in an accredited college or university who is pursuing a degree in related field and has an interest in the banking/financial services industry
• Resourceful, enthusiastic, and proactive
• Highly organized
• Demonstrated strong attention to detail
• Experience creating and delivering presentations
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
• Ability to learn quickly and solve problems
• Strong analytical skills
• Collaborative and inclusive team player
• Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Legally eligible to work in the U.S.

The estimated hourly rate for this position is $18.00/hr. USD to $20.00/hr. USD. Actual hourly rate may vary up or down depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
