Content Operations is ultimately responsible for successfully delivering Disney’s entertainment and sports content to millions of people every day. This involves developing, operating, and leading a global content supply chain – the myriad of steps involved from taking a finalized TV show/movie, or live piece of content, from inside Disney to audiences around the globe, in their preferred language and format. This team also leads technology operations in Latin America, Europe and Asia Pacific.
The Traffic Operations team is seeking a Traffic Coordinator that is a strong communicator with proven professional and organizational skills.
The Traffic Coordinator is responsible for the proper acquisition and placement of all commercial content for the On-Air logs. Responsibilities may change daily to fit the needs of the department.
Responsibilities:
Preparation of the 24-hour broadcast log prior to releasing to internal partners.
Works closely with Kids Programming to verify all programs and break lengths are accurate.
Ensures billboard and sponsorship spots are matched with advertisers.
Works closely with Ad Sales to ensure advertiser accommodations are met and communicates any log issues to both Ad Sales and Traffic management in effort to resolve potential issues prior to finalization.
Works with Agencies, Ad Sales and Marketing on managing and maintaining of all traffic commercial/sponsorship copy assets.
Extensive coordination with Sales and Business Standards & Practices (BS&P) for spot approvals and for the proper placement and scheduling of all commercial assets to maintain Federal Communications Commission (FCC) compliance as it pertains to Kids Networks.
Assist Traffic management with various departmental projects e.g. digital record storage, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) updates, software regression testing.
Execute Hot-Starts and special program start and end times.
Process FCC and BS&P compliance reports to ensure placement of commercial/sponsorship and marketing spots meet current FCC and Legal Guidelines.
Finalize and downloaded broadcast 24hr Kids Legal log.
Provide control room support for Live Events and validation of aired spots.
Handle various duties for Traffic Manager when Manager is out or unavailable.
Basic Qualifications:
Associates/Bachelor’s degree (preferable in Television/Radio Broadcasting or other related fields) or equivalent experience
Must be computer literate. Must have clerical and data input experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum of 2-yrs experience in broadcast television.
Working knowledge of WideOrbit Traffic System, SIMS, Microsoft 365 suit, Slack, Adobe Acrobat, ZOOM.
Organized, detail oriented and self-motivated.
Strong interpersonal skills and capable of working effectively within a team environment and across multiple business platforms.
Capable of learning new system procedures/functions as they pertain to the needs of our business and children’s television.
Possesses excellent communications skills; capable of explaining oneself both verbally and in writing.
Ability to make decisions quickly and effectively under pressure.
Positive attitude and willing to adapt in an industry environment where change is continuous and inevitable.
The hiring range for this position in Burbank is $47,430 - $58,000 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
