Job description
The American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ACMG) is the only nationally recognized interdisciplinary professional membership organization that represents the interests of the entire medical genetics team including clinical geneticists, clinical laboratory geneticists, and genetic counselors. Together, the ACMG and its members engage in coordinated efforts to improve patient care, ensure optimal reimbursement for genetic service providers, establish standards of care and laboratory policy, and educate members about advances important to their practices.
About The Opportunity
ACMG is seeking a Business Systems Analyst who will use their knowledge of business strategies and software programs to collaborate with departments and third-party vendors to improve the overall user experience, maximize productivity and communication. The Business Systems Analyst will also evaluate the overall impact that new systems will have on ACMG, make recommendations for advancements, and integrate IT solutions when necessary. This role will also be required to work with external vendors to ensure ACMG’s websites and servers are updated and maintained. In addition, this role will be responsible for tracking website analytics, generating reports and ensuring software applications and resources are up to date. This role will report directly to the Director of Administration and Operations. A successful candidate will have a keen attention to detail capabilities, experience with front- and back-end website development, and the ability to problem-solve and collaborate with key stakeholders within ACMG and third-party vendors.
Job Description
30% Website and Systems Maintenance and Updates:
- Oversee 3rd party vendors to ensure ACMG’s website content and design remains current, including text, images, and multimedia elements and are visually appealing.
- Monitor ACMG’s website performance and address any technical issues promptly.
- Ensure proper security tools and practices are implemented for all ACMG websites.
- Create user guides and documentation for common website updates and potential issues.
- Ensure ACMG’s web servers are running smoothly and efficiently.
- Integrate website data with other ACMG systems and databases as needed.
- Generate reports on website traffic, user behavior, and other relevant metrics.
- Keep software applications, tools, & 3rd party integrations used for website management up to date and secure.
45% Systems and Software Management and Integration of IT Solutions
- Gather feedback from users to identify areas for improvement throughout the ACMG member (and non-member) experience.
- Coordinate and support the selection of 3rd party IT vendors.
- Collaborate with key ACMG stakeholders and third-party vendors to improve the overall user experience within the organization.
- Work closely with ACMG’s Department Directors to implement new features and design elements and address needs, wants, and pain points.
- Work closely with ACMG’s Managed Services Provider to keep all parties informed of any changes to systems.
- Track performance of elected software using analytics tools and make recommendations for improvement.
- Evaluate the overall impact new systems and software will have on ACMG’s user experience.
- Test new software and tools before implementation.
- Attend quarterly meetings with ACMG’s Managed Services Provider and inform Department Directors of potential new solutions to improve security and efficiency for ACMG as recommended.
25% IT Support for ACMG Staff
- Provide technical input during the website development process.
- Provide technical assistance to ACMG employees for website issues, especially for members.
- Set up new user accounts and manage access privileges into the websites (4 total).
- Conduct training sessions for ACMG staff to enhance their website knowledge and experience.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 3-5 years of experience of using web content management systems to update online content required.
- Experience with IT systems management, including Engagement Management Systems (EMS) required such as IMIS.
- Experience with Association Management Software (AMS) and Customer Relationship Management Software (CRM) required.
- Experience with identifying vulnerabilities in the organization’s current systems in place.
- Ability to communicate strategic decisions with other IT stakeholders.
- Ability to train end-users and write instruction manuals for stakeholders.
- Ability to research and evaluate emerging technologies, including AMS and CRM software.
- Ability to maintain productive and professional working relationships with team members, including ACMG Depart. Directors.
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365 products, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint as well as Google Analytics, Adobe Photoshop, or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of the unique requirements of writing for the Web, such as the use of keywords, hyperlinks, and navigation and the importance of brevity.
- Ability to explain technical aspects of websites and software to non-technical staff members.
- Ability to develop and implement creative solutions.
- Possession of attention to detail skills
- Possession of verbal and written communication skills
- Possession of proficiency in IMIS association management software and RISE content management system, CSS, PHP, IParts, Javascript, and HTML
- CompTIA Security+, CompTIACySA+, or CompTIA CASP+ certifications preferred.
Additional Information
ADA SPECIFICATIONS
This is a largely sedentary position that requires the ability to speak, hear, see, and lift small objects up to 20 lbs. Ability to travel domestically occasionally, up to 10%.
