Our team creates world-class immersive digital experiences for the Company’s premier vacation brands including Disney’s Parks & Resorts worldwide, Disney Cruise Line, Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa, and Disney Vacation Club. We are responsible for the end-to-end digital and physical Guest experience for all technology & digital-led initiatives across the Attractions & Entertainment, Food & Beverage, Resorts & Transportation and Merchandise lines of business as well as other initiatives including MyDisneyExperience and Hey, Disney!
The Manager, Technology will have responsibilities within the Disney Experiences (DX) team that manages technical delivery for products within the Connected Products team across all DX. This person will lead a cross discipline team of engineers and problem solvers to delivery projects, sustain platforms, and contribute to innovative new products. This leader will lead by example by contributing code, proposing new architecture, leading code reviews, and working with the team in the field. The Manager will have direct responsibilities for the platform expansion and sustainment for Walt Disney World Resort and beyond through multiple initiatives.
Develop product roadmap, execution plans and delivery strategy for engineering solutions
Establish relationships with key collaborators of DX, Resorts, and Walt Disney Imagineering.
Lead on site expertise for new installations, expansions, as well as sustainment activities for Connected Products installations around the world.
Lead and run implementation of sophisticated engineering solutions across the enterprise.
Work with Level 1 and Level 2 sustainment teams from hardware and software to ensure platform knowledge and long-term sustainment plans are in place and hand offs are complete.
Deliver new technology enhancements and product requests while improving the Connected Products Platform capabilities and building features with an eye toward the overall platform success.
Commit code, assist in development activities, deliver completed products to production.
Ensure work across engineering teams are high quality and clearly detailed.
Advocate good architecture, provide leadership by example.
Partner with our Product Management partners on new initiatives – be a partner and help to define and take the products to the next level.
Coordinate and perform field testing/validation for deployments, product releases, and sustainment incident validation for services.
Maintain and cultivate relationships with tech and business partners by delivering quality services.
People management responsibilities for team members.
Minimum of 8 years of related work experience.
Proven experience in leading and handling large engineering initiatives and team.
Field Knowledge and Expert level expertise with RF – NFC, BLE, etc.
Familiarity with basic principles and standard processes running IoT devices.
Experience with AWS Services and Tools (Kinesis, Dynamo, etc.).
Network, Systems Engineering, and Operations experience in a new build and support role.
Strong technical competency in Java, Golang, Shell Scripting.
Excellent leadership, communication and presentation skills.
Excellent troubleshooting and triage skills.
Knowledge of architecture best practices.
Demonstrated professional written, verbal, and presentation communications skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience
