IT Specialist Job Description
This position will provide assistance to users both in person and remote to resolve their IT software and hardware issues. As an IT Specialist you will work with other IT team members with various projects including but not limited to, new computer setups, software and hardware upgrades, and new location setups.
IT Specialist Responsibilities
Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with existing hardware and software applications
Install and upgrade hardware and software including (but not limited to) printer installations/support, assist with networking hardware and interfacing hardware/software of peripheral devices
Determine, develop, and maintain user and support documentation
Provide individual and group user-training sessions
Assist other IT team members as needed on various IT-related projects, including network cabling installations, hardware relocations, software installations, software testing, etc.
IT Specialist Qualifications
Knowledge of Personal Computers (PC’s), components, and experience with setting-up both hardware and software
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft OS, Microsoft Office, Google Apps, Remote Access, Network & Administration, Smartphones, Printers, etc.
Ability to resolve issues over the phone using remote utilities
Formal training in computer-related field from College / Technical School and/or certified training courses – preferred
Have the ability to communicate well with technical and non-technical people
Must be a motivated self-starter with attention to detail – very important. Willingness to learn systems, share knowledge, support the company's user community, etc.
Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds – i.e., computer equipment, monitors, printers, etc.
