Job description
TheStaff Accountantis responsible for assisting with the day to day running of the accounting function, including but not limited to performing general ledger accounting, bank statement reconciliation, preparing journal entries and financial statements.
Responsibilities
- Assists with the month-end closing process, conducting research and making correcting journal entries for account discrepancies, preparing closing journal entries, posting accrual entries, and assist in preparation of financial statements across entities
- Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts (cash, prepaids, fixed assets, intangibles, etc.), maintenance of working papers and roll forwards
- Performs the processing of functional and benefits expense allocations, monthly accruals, amortization of prepaid expenses, fixed assets depreciation and recording of adjusting and reclassification journal entries, as needed
- Assists in preparing inter-company entries, expense allocations, and eliminations as part of consolidation
- Complete other projects as necessary
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in accounting or related field
- 2-3+ years of GAAP accounting experience; public accounting experience preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of Accounting and US GAAP principles
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to interact effectively with all levels both within and outside the company
- Ability to prioritize multiple duties and work independently
- Flexibility and comfort with continuous change, willingness to take on challenges, and work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong excel skills and passion for new technologies that promote efficiency
- Ability to travel to Tampa on a quarterly basis
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with NetSuite
- CPA or CMA, or interested in pursuing
- Public accounting audit experience
- Experience with M&A, and Private Equity backed SaaS
