Clinical Supervisor - Newport News Behavioral Health Center
POSITION SUMMARY :
This position is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the delivery of inpatient and outpatient continuing care and family services. This includes providing clinical support clinical staff members, clinical supervision for license eligible therapists/social workers, reviewing documentation for compliance, and ensuring adherence to all program and regulatory requirements. Position is also responsible when necessary for providing interventions, conducting psychosocial assessments, developing the resident’s treatment plan, facilitating group, and individual and family therapy. In addition to the above duties, the Clinical Supervisor, develops, monitors, proofreads, and signs resident/patient treatment plans, biopsychosocial assessments, recreation therapy notes, group therapy notes, family session notes, individual therapy notes, case management notes and discharge documentation. The Clinical Supervisor will assist with training as requested.
Newport News Behavioral Health Center is a 108 bed intensive and highly structured residential treatment for psychiatric and behavioral health needs of adolescent males and females ages 11-18yrs. Newport News has an on-site certified school, art and music therapists, and vocational programming. Newport News, VA is a beautiful seaside city, rich in maritime history and conveniently located to DC and other major North Eastern cities.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS :
The Clinical Supervisor must be a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with all the necessary qualifications required by the Commonwealth of Virginia to supervise unlicensed clinicians. Must have a Master’s Degree in counseling or related health services field. NNBHC prefers at least three years of clinical experience, at least two years of supervisory experience, and a thorough working knowledge of psychiatric disorders, evidenced based treatment modalities, and appropriate mental health intervention techniques. Must be able to compose and deliver educational lectures. Must be able to communicate effectively with other health care professionals, both verbally and in writing. Must have at least one year working/treating adolescents.
