Basic Job Functions:
Summary:
Team Line Managers oversee the manufacturing, assembly, and shipment of C.H.I. products. A subject matter expert on their assigned line, Team Line Managers are expected to facilitate the overall manufacturing strategy using standard work instructions and plant manufacturing schedule. Team Line Managers are trained on every role on the line and can serve as a mentor, champions of quality and safety initiatives, and the overall leader of their departments. In addition, team Line Managers are responsible for communicating with and motivating their associates, hiring and firing, promoting, transferring, completing performance reviews and development plans for their associates, and disciplining employees or making recommendations for these actions.
Additional Functions:
- Engage with and communicate to all associates daily on individual and team objectives for the day, week, or extended period around Safety, Quality, Productivity, and other Company matters.
- Coach, train, and assess team members to help develop their skill sets and enhance performance.
- Make hiring, firing, and wage adjustments as needed.
- Lead the Performance Review and Development plan process for their associates.
- Serve as the face of the Company for their associates, fostering an environment of teamwork and inclusion.
- Reads production lists and performs work as assigned by production management.
- Leads the deployment of safety, quality, and operational objectives of the business
- Performing the tasks and responsibilities of every position within their assigned line efficiently and effectively to standards.
- Performs other reasonably related duties as assigned.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year previous general labor and/or management experience.Preferred Qualifications:
- Two years of previous general labor and/or customer service experience.
