General Ledger Accountant
The
GL Accountant will focus on Revenue Accounting and be responsible for the timely execution of monthly close activities, accurate and timely abstraction of all lease agreements, communication of accounting needs to the Sales organization, and support our financial audits. This position reports to the Manager of Accounting and is based in the
Herndon, VA office.
Primary Responsibilities - Assists with Revenue Recognition within the department. Reviews and abstracts lease agreements into the lease accounting system. Manages a high volume of activity.
- Prepares and reconciles the CRM system to our Billing/Revenue financial reporting system to ensure completeness of billings.
- Actively reviews contracts prior to execution and proactively resolves any discrepancies with Sales.
- Prepares accounting entries and reconciliations related to deferred revenue and unbilled receivables.
- Performs monthly close procedures and assists with GL reconciliations.
- Analyzes and understands complete product line/offerings and revenue/expense streams to ensure proper revenue recognition.
- Assists with the month-end financial reporting and variance analysis.
- Assists with annual financial audit.
- Identifies system or process inefficiencies or issues and provides solutions for enhancements.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities - Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong communication, both written and verbal, in leading teams and coordinating with peers and other disciplines on driving projects/issues to closure.
- Commitment to organizational excellence and constant awareness to seek opportunities to improve processes/quality of deliverables.
- Superb ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects/responsibilities.
- Superb ability to meet committed timelines, leveraging assistance/input from peers.

Experience/Education - 2+ years of mix of corporate and public accounting experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting .
- Active CPA candidates, as well as those with ASC 842, NetSuite, and Real Estate experience are strongly encouraged to apply.

EdgeConneX offers a competitive benefits package. The preferred pay range for this position is $90,000-95,000. Compensation will be finalized after consideration of the successful applicant’s prior work experience, education level and relevant education, and unique skills.
