Job description
As the Assistant Controller , you will be responsible for ensuring proper overall General Ledger accounting in accordance with GAAP. Will assist in the onboarding of other companies as acquired, as well as having direct control of all "sub" systems including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Payroll.

In this role you will:
- Manage all accounting operations and staff, to include payroll, billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, cost accounting, inventory and revenue recognition.
- Responsible for all general ledger activity on a daily and monthly basis, recording all journal entries, accruals, reversals, reclassifications, and error corrections.
- Responsible for the valuation of perpetual raw material, finished goods inventories, along with reporting on consumption and waste and monitor cycle count process and participate in the year-end 100% physical inventory.
- Reconcile month-end closing, including reconciliation of bank statements, A/P & A/R and general ledger.
- Prepare and publish timely financials and review financials with Executive Team.
- Perform the year-end closing, including working with external auditors.
- Demonstrate a hands-on approach to all aspects of the annual compliance audit.
- Manage the process of providing all requested documentation from an extensive request list including all schedules for long- and short-term debt, capital expenses, fixed assets, bank statements, reconciliations, AR/AP, and inventory testing .
- Contribute to the preparation and development of the annual budget, managing monthly financial forecasting and variance reporting.
- Have significant involvement and exposure to cost system, including the development of labor, material overhead rates to ensure efficient recovery of all in pricing of product to market.
- Oversees daily cash management responsibilities including creating and initiating all ACH and wire payments, as well as daily bank reconciliations. Develops the Cash Flow Budget to project requirements and avoid any unforeseen shortfalls.
- Performs an o ngoing assessment of systems and processes to ensure existence of solid internal controls, adherence to GAAP, and compliance with State and Federal Tax requirements.
We seek:
- BSBA - Accounting/Finance.
- 3-5 years extensive accounting/finance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to direct and supervise.
- Solid experience with Accounting Software packages (preferably one point/Monarch).
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Office; particularly with Excel.
- Must have a strong understanding of GAAP.
- Basic understanding and aptitude with State Sales Tax requirements.
- Ability to research discrepancies in a professional and timely manner.
A plus:
- Knowledge of asset-based lending and borrowing base certificates.
- MBA/CPA/CMA.
- Experience with Kronos/UKG.
