This full- time position is for a Medical Assistant within our Podiatry office in Dade City and Wesley Chapel. This position is responsible for assisting providers and manages clinical functions in the department. The scheduled shift is Mon/Wed/Fri 7-4, Tues/Thurs 8-5
Minimum of 1 year of MA experience desired and familiar with medical terminology, patient care, and typing, Highly organized, dependable
Must be willing to travel to our Dade City and Wesley Chapel locations

Keys to Success in this Role:
- Completes the start of day processes
- Properly room patients
- Takes and records vitals
- Assists provider during examination and with treatment
- Performs diagnostic studies and treatments as ordered by the provider
- Enters charges for services rendered by the medical assistant
- Processes medication requests per provider
- Handles medication refill requests
- Obtains prescription overrides and prior authorization when needed
- Manages clinical tasks
- Triages high level patient calls
- Distributes, reviews, and teaches patient education
- Organizes and maintains sample and supply closets
- Assists provider with completion of forms requested by patients
- Prepares charts
- Schedules pre-ops
- Completes the end of day processes
Physical and Mental Demands:
- Physical requirements
- Able to stand or walk for long periods
- Use of proper body mechanics
- Normal concentration and normal complexity of decision making
- High level verbal and written communication skills
- Above average ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Job Qualifications:
- High school graduate or GED equivalent
- Completion of Medical Assistant program
- Strong team player
- High computer proficiency
- Strong customer service orientation
- Medical knowledge, familiarity with medical terminology
- 1 years of medical assisting experience is required
