Lawrence Academy seeks a highly responsible and organized Assistant Equipment Room Manager. The Assistant Equipment Room Manager is responsible for maintaining equipment and uniforms for the Lawrence Academy teams, inventory procedures, along with other duties and functions required to support the school’s athletic teams. This position has extensive contact and interaction with coaches, administrators, and students. This is a paid, part-time position, reporting to the Director of Athletics.
Qualified candidates must be professional, internally driven and team oriented. Candidates should be available to work the following hours during the school year: Monday’s, Tuesday’s, Thursday’s, and Friday’s from 2:00pm – 6:00pm; Wednesday’s from 12:00pm – 6:00pm; and Saturday’s from 8:00am – 12:00pm.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update inventory for athletic equipment, uniforms, and other athletic-related products and supplies for the athletic department.
- Assist in reviewing and ordering various athletic equipment needs for fall, winter, and spring sports. Prepare equipment for summer distribution to players at the request of the Director of Athletics.
- Organize and distribute athletic equipment/uniforms for athletes and coaches.
- Collect athletic equipment /uniforms upon return from events. Assess equipment/uniform status and wash, refurbish, or replace as needed.
- Provide daily laundry loops for uniforms and other personal athletic attire to athletes. Wash and dry looped attire and hang for athlete’s return.
- Game day set up and break down of equipment and/or operational needs on game days.
- Be present during games/events for equipment repairs or emergencies.
- According to manufacturer recommendations, size, and fit student-athletes for athletic equipment for their respective sport assessing basic safety checking.
- Maintain tracking data logs for all uniforms distributed each season. At the end of each season, contact students who are delinquent in returning their uniforms.
- Maintain accountability for rec slip charges for student purchases which include mouth guards, water bottle, knee pads, and other purchasable items available from the equipment room.
- Supervise and instruct student workers in the equipment room each season in basic equipment room operations.

Qualifications:
- Ability to establish and maintain effective and appropriate relationships with adolescents.
- Enthusiasm for working in an independent school setting and desire to embrace the school’s mission and values.
- First aid and CPR training preferred.
- Candidates will be required to complete criminal records, sexual offender records, driving records, and Massachusetts fingerprinting checks.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
- Able to walk, bend, climb, and be on their feet for extended periods of time.
- Must be capable of lifting up to 50-pounds individually and up to 100-pounds with assistance, 0-72-inch height range, on an occasional to frequent basis.
- Ability to carry 35-40 pounds, at waist level for up to 25 feet on an occasional to frequent basis.
- Must be able to work outside in inclement weather.
- Must tolerate working with cleaning products, laundry detergent and other chemicals associated with the position.
