Office Coordinator

Full Time; FTE 1.0

Monday-Friday; 8:00am-4:30pm(hours may vary slightly based on business needs)

Rock Island, IL

 

Coordinates and performs all front office operations including patient reception, scheduling, medical record maintenance, database management and billing duties under the direct supervision of the Manager of Human Resources and Employee Health. Performs duties and responds to the varying priorities of the manager and EHM nurses, in order to assure efficient operation of the department.

Minimum Requirements

Identify items that are minimally required to perform the essential functions of this position.

Education:

 

 

 

High School graduate or GED equivalent

 

 

Experience:

 

 

 

 

Previous clerical/secretarial experience.

Two years clerical/secretarial experience in a health care setting.

Office management experience.

License(s)/Certification(s):

 

 

 

 

Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

 

 

 

 

· Must have excellent interpersonal skills to deal with a wide variety of individuals including patients, visitors, health care staff and physicians, and the general public.

· Must possess good verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills.

· Must be able to work independently.

· Competent computer skills, including Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), and data entry.

· Technical aptitude; ability to learn new computers systems and software quickly

· Ability to use office machines and telephone systems.

· Ability to maintain physical and electronic files and records.

· Ability to work independently and with initiative to seek information to coordinate activities and follow through on tasks.

· Assumes responsibility for professional growth and development, learning new procedures as needed.

 

Knowledge of medical and insurance terminology.

Other:

 

 

 

Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
