JOB SUMMARY

La Cocina's Bilingual Marketing & Social Media Strategist is a dynamic, highly creative and enthusiastic communicator looking to join La Cocina's team of social changemakers. As a key member of La Cocina's communications team, the Marketing & Social Media Strategist will manage the agency's social media platforms, including by designing captivating and culturally-affirming content, responding strategically to the overall demands of social media communications, and delivering strategic social media analytics that build the agency's social impact. Additionally, La Cocina's Bilingual Marketing & Social Media Strategist is also responsible for supporting the Marketing & Communications Supervisor with website development and updates, working collaboratively with La Cocina's diverse teams to produce excellent copy and creative materials used for outreach and community engagement efforts, and by producing excellent fundraising events as directed by their supervisor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

Responsibilities for this position include, and are not limited to, the following:

• Work collaboratively with La Cocina's clinical and program teams, and as part of La Cocina's Marketing, Communications & Development team, and under the supervision of the Marketing & Communications Supervisor.
• Oversees planning, scheduling, content design, strategic engagement, maintenance, and a culturally-affirming responsive approach to managing all La Cocina social media platforms.
• Monitors, analyzes and reports on social media trends, overall analytics, and/or the dissemination of community knowledge.
• Delivers monthly verbal and written analytics reports to the Executive Leadership Team.
• Trains-in and learns La Cocina's equitable evaluation framework, and is able to integrate social media analytics into key evaluation activities as directed by their supervisor.
• Supports the La Cocina's Marketing & Communications Supervisor by working on website updates and/or content, supporting La Cocina's diverse teams with copywriting and content creation/development, and by generally remaining responsive to the needs of the Marketing, Communications & Development team.
• Learns and utilizes Monday.com to manage all projects and/or assignments, including by building dashboards for reporting analytics.
• Is proactive in staying up-to-date on technological innovations that enhance the work and mission of La Cocina, and the Marketing & Communications team more specifically.
• Is able to receive and give feedback, including as part of a collaborative team that maintains a proactive reflective stance.
• Other responsibilities assigned at supervisor's discretion.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Fluency in Spanish and English
• Demonstrated ability designing original and illustrative graphic social media and/or other marketing content used in successful communications and outreach efforts.
• Expert at using social media for professional purposes, and with the aim of creating socially responsible content that bolsters the interests of La Cocina's stakeholders.
• Experience with social media analytics, including trends analysis.
• Awareness and sensitivity to issues of cultural attunement related to work with Latine communities.
• Ability to incorporate a social justice perspective into key social media and/or general marketing content.
• Strong organizational, goal-setting, self-management, project management and problem-solving skills, including those needed to create timelines, meet deadlines, and track these with ease.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including those needed to create and/or deliver presentations.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, market research, design, or other relevant field. Participants who do not meet this qualification but who count with a proven record of exceptional experience are welcome to apply.
• Demonstrable experience designing, managing and/or disseminating social media content..
• Ability with digital marketing campaigns is a plus.
• Sound knowledge of best SEO practices and how to apply them as part of an overall marketing and/or media outreach strategy.
• Skilled at designing original graphic marketing content with a portfolio.
• Experience using graphic design software such as Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, etc.
• Copywriting skills and/or experience preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/LOCATION

This position may be based out of La Cocina's Fort Collins and/or Denver office. The position is considered a hybrid position with three days required in-person, and one day working from home. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about attending one staff meeting in Denver and one in Fort Collins every month. Additionally, the work requires some commuting to/from La Cocina's offices in both locations in order to conduct meetings and/or participate in key training opportunities. Some travel may be required.

HOURS

This is a full time, exempt position approved for 32-hours per week. Additional hours may be available depending on the candidate's availability, expertise and skill, and enthusiasm for La Cocina's innovative work.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

The physical demands described herein represent those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms. 

Ability to operate all general office equipment including computer, printer, copier, fax, and phones. Must be able to work with graphic design software and materials related to the production of creative content.

CLASSIFICATION & PAY 

This position's starting salary is $27-$34 per hour, or $58,000 to $68,000 annually based on a 40-hour work week. La Cocina seeks to be competitive in all hiring practices, and will therefore consider applicants based on professional experience, creative skill, and ability to generate culturally affirming narratives and materials that demonstrate key qualifications and organizational alignment.
