Youth Care Worker

Position Summary: Provides case management assistance through intakes, transportation and provides support in day-to-day functions of the safety wellbeing of UCs. Assess relatives and/or sponsors at place of release to ensure their identification. Average travel could range between 5-10 travel events a month.

- Actively participate in safety and service-related resources development prior to UC discharge.
- Provide transportation support to assigned case management team.
- Escort children, verify identification of approved sponsor and release custody of children to approved sponsor.
- Prepare and maintain accurate documentation of reunification of children.
- Attending scheduled training related to positions.
- Provide day-to-day coverage within agency service facility.
- Adhere to Child Abuse and reporting requirements.
- Must be relied upon regarding task completion and meeting deadlines without sacrificing accuracy, work quality, or customer service satisfaction.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Ability: Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence. Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
Mathematical Ability: Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability: Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills: Certificates and Licenses: Preferred Education/ Experience/ Skills: - Bilingual in Spanish is a must.
- 1+ years experience working with children and families.
- Attainment of at least 21 years of age.
