Job description
Description: This person will be going out into the field with another technician to collect data off of utility poles. Taking pictures, Using GPS units to take measurements and taking physical measurements of different components / on the poles. They will be out in the field for a day or two and then will be in the office 60% of the time loading that data into their software. It will give them a yes or no on whether the pole is able to be loaded with new wire or if it needs to be replaced. They will then submit that into their tracking system and from there it will get accepted or kicked back. Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions. Travel, including overnight travel is required Ability to acquire field data (stick poles) to be used in the OSP Aerial design with supervision. Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions. Utility pole maintenance, remedial treatments, and application of wood-preserving chemicals Manage utility pole assets through web-based mapping, and collection of GPS data 6+ months of field inspection, installation, utility location, GIS mapping, surveying or similar experience Need to be ok working outside all year round in all weather conditions in rough terrain (hills, woods, swamps, etc.) 100% traveling role mostly throughout the Midwest - Travel for months without going home Valid drivers license and acceptable driving record Able to work 6 days a week sun up to sun down - on average 10 hour days Experience Level: Entry Level About Actalent Actalent is a global leader in engineering and sciences services and talent solutions.
