Job description


The position is responsible for providing the daily resource support to the Hospital related to equipment, instrumentation, sterile and non-sterile supplies. The CPD Technician coordinates the activities engaged in decontaminating, cleaning, processing, assembling, storing, and distributing sterile and non-sterile trays and supplies. Monitor and assist Central Processing Technicians on a daily basis as needed.

Minimum Education: Must be a graduate of a state approved, accredited school of Surgical Technology or Central Service Technician. High school graduate or equivalent is preferred Minimum Experience/Knowledge: Four years’ experience in in an OR/CSPD environment. Experience in Acute Care hospital preferred. Thorough knowledge of handling and cleaning of all medical equipment per recommended infection control guidelines. Thorough knowledge of sterile technique as it relates to handling of supplies and equipment. Able to mobilize equipment timely to areas needing equipment. Assists with performing stock inventories and restocking of supplies or instrumentation for operating room or CSPD as need arises. Must be extremely organized. Demonstrate excellent customer service behavior. Thorough knowledge of surgical instruments and supplies utilized within the perioperative arena. Ability to speak, read, and writes English. Computer literacy preferred. Required License/Certification: Surgical Technology or Central Service Certification required at time of hire.
