Project Overview:

Bechtel and Westinghouse Electric Company have partnered to deliver the first AP1000 nuclear power reactors in Poland for our customer, the Polish Entity Polskie Elektrownie Jadrowe (PEJ). Bechtel will be the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor for the project. As the EPC, our responsibilities will include providing the design for the Turbine Island and Balance of Plant as well as the construction of the entire facility.

Position Summary:

The Senior Project P6 Administrator plays an essential role in providing important schedule analytics for project execution management and maintaining schedule configuration control and compliance with corporate and client schedule requirements. This role will be involved in all aspects of defining, maintaining, and analyzing the integrated project schedule structure from supporting the project planning lead in establishing and implementing the planning philosophy for the project through running detailed analytics to identify opportunities for improvement in the schedule to working collaboratively with and providing technical guidance to the planning and project execution team to implement the identified improvements. The position also plays a key role in ensuring accurate and timely implementation of changes into the project baseline schedule within the established procedures and timing requirements. The successful candidate will require both a keen attention to detail and technical competence in handling and analyzing large data sets in Primavera P6 and other schedule related analytical tools.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborates with the project Scheduling Manager and Project Controls Manager to develop and document schedule requirements, database settings, reporting timelines, and general schedule philosophy for the project. Responsibilities include:
  • Developing, issuing, and providing guidance and training on schedule related procedures and desktop instructions.
  • Establishing schedule mandatory code field parameters and data dictionary
  • Maintaining code field integration with cost control and estimate structures.
  • Maintaining resource dictionaries and calendar settings.
  • Administering schedule system user access and permissions.
  • Assigning and maintaining schedule baseline files.
• Coordinates the administration and maintenance of the project P6 scheduling software and associated databases, including:
  • Interfacing with IS&T and web developers for P6 related topics, errors, or issues.
  • Functionality testing, data validation and add-on tools testing.
  • Coordination, development, and deployment of upgrades and follow-on training
• Develops and issues routine and special purpose scheduling reports and deliverables, including:
  • Contract deliverables, monthly report content, and weekly review meeting materials related to schedule.
  • Creation and maintenance of management summary schedules, e.g., Level I, Level II, and Project Milestones reporting.
  • Project and corporate schedule metrics reports, e.g., Start & Finish Metrics, Acumen Fuse schedule health.
  • Schedule data quality and integrity analysis to identify schedule health issues using manual and packaged software applications common in the industry. Collaborate with the project team and oversight entities for their resolution.
  • Administering and quality checking import and export file processes.
• Responsible for maintaining configuration control of the project baseline schedule, including:
  • Supporting the planning team with appropriate file structure and definitions required to develop baseline change information for review and approval.
  • Implementing approved baseline changes into the project schedule in accordance with approved baseline change authorization documents.
  • Maintaining WBS structure / tree and WBS dictionary in accordance with the project scope of work.
• Responsible for analyzing the project schedule to identify and implement solutions needed to ensure compliance with contractual and corporate schedule requirements, including those elements related to the project’s earned value management processes and reporting.
• Perform risk analysis for the establishment of schedule margin requirements in the baseline and understanding of schedule risk exposure in the forecast using a combination of management judgment and results from Monte Carlo risk analysis software such as Primavera Risk Analysis (PRA) or Acumen Risk.
• Assists the planning team in the development and integration of individual schedules into the total project plan, including baseline change development and implementation, and forecast schedule status and maintenance.
• Performs data analysis on both the baseline and forecast schedules to identify opportunities to improve on execution sequences, identify and work to resolve complex or recurring execution challenges or risks in future phases of project execution.

Qualifications and Skills

Basic Qualifications: 

• Must possess at least a bachelors’ (BS/BA) degree from an accredited university and at least 6 years of professional experience, or in lieu of a degree, a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 12 years of professional experience.
• Possess the legal right to work and remain in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.
• Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check including verification of employment, education, and travel.
• Must be able to obtain site security badge for access to work site.

Additional Qualifications:

• Primavera P6 database setup and administration experience on major Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Startup projects.
• Expert level Excel skill sets for calculations, formulas, and data analysis.
• Project Controls general technical skills
• Intermediate knowledge and experience with:
  • Establishing schedule requirements and developing procedures or guidance documents
  • Office and other standard industry productivity software tools
• Skilled in oral and written communication
• Ability to work independently and as part of team to meet project requirements.
• Flexibility to respond to urgent project requests and/or changing priorities.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people of varied backgrounds and objectives.
• Performing Monte Carlo Schedule Risk Analysis using standard industry software tools
• Demonstrated skill in identifying and analyzing issues and recommending corrective actions.
• Working knowledge of summary schedule software such as Milestones Professional.
• Advanced data manipulation and analysis using Excel, Access, and Power BI.
