Job description
SUMMARY
Analyze financial activities of the North American Services organization and support business analysis requirements of Service Controlling North America.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide general business support to the NA Service organization.
- Perform Month End Close and Month End financial reporting responsibilities.
- Establish databases of pertinent information for analyzing future plans and forecasts.
- Work with Managers of Central Service Functions (Purchasing, Sales, Logistics, HR & Accounting) on establishing their budgets and support them on multiple financial topics that impact the Service organization.
- Establish a costing model for rates for the Engineering departments.
- Prepare and submit all information relevant to the economic budget according to corporate established timeline.
- Communicates with the Business Units on cost allocations of Central Services.
- Direct preparation of studies, reports and analysis for budgets, forecasts, financial plans, governmental requirements, statistical reports, cash flow projections and business forecasts.
- Calculate / establish rates for R&D department and monitoring projects profitability.
- SAP Project system reporting / analysis, various projects and AD HOC Analysis.
- Evaluate complex profits plans, operating records and financial statements.
- Conduct special studies to analyze complex financial actions and prepare recommendations for policy, procedure, control, or action.
- Make recommendations to management regarding cost saving or profit generating opportunities and profitability improvement strategies.
- Analyze sales / financial information to determine present and future performance.
- Identify and communicate trends and other strategic information to management.
- Collect and analyze regional information for insurance policies.
- Handles special projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor's degree required - preferably in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration from a four-year college or university.
- 3+ years' work experience preferred in Controlling, Finance and/or Accounting.
- Experience in public accounting or international automotive manufacturing a plus.
- Must have excellent planning, organizational, and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and financial analysis abilities, as well as adhoc reporting skills.
- Knowledge of current principles of accounting, finance and audit principles. Experience with US or German GAAP preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to design, implement, and manage complex processes.
- Microsoft Office; High Level MS Excel Skills (pivot table / macros / formulas). Experience with SAP (preferred - FI/CO) or other ERP system tool.
- Capacity to learn and apply new tools and concepts.
