203°F Coffee Co. in Seattle, WA is looking for one barista to join our team. We are located on 610 Terry Ave N. Our ideal candidate is passionate about espresso, self-driven, punctual, and reliable who can work weekends 15-20 hours p/week with the possibility of more days while we grow, as well as open to filling in shifts.
We are passionate about crafting and serving the highest quality espresso and pour over coffees available in the industry. Each cup we create is aesthetically and intentionally prepared with the goal of showcasing the complexity and unique flavor profiles of each drink. Our menu options are limited to just the best, as our main focus is on quality in the cup. We strive to provide a coffee experience like no other.
BARISTA SUPPORT and eventually BARISTA
Position Reports To: Café Manager
Responsibilities
- Assist certified baristas with making beverages as well as completing daily tasks
- Prepare hot and cold drinks in accordance with customer needs
- Follow health and safety guidelines Interact with customers regularly and professionally
- Complete the required training modules contained in the Retail Training Manual; Baristas are encouraged to pursue the completion of additional training modules.
- Maintain coffee knowledge on current offerings and confidently and accurately communicate product information to customers.
- Actively participate in coffee and tea tastings to further product knowledge and help identify any issues or deficiencies.
- Educate customers on all coffee and teas carried.
- Attend training sessions to constantly advance education on coffee, tea, merchandise, and espresso bar skills.
- Demonstrate an ongoing pursuit of education, training, and industry trends.
- Ensure customers are warmly received and welcomed; engage the customers in a sincere and friendly manner, including greeting customers with a smile, thanking them for their patronage, and preparing drinks in an expedient manner.
- Respond to questions, orders, and concerns with patience, confidence, and professionalism.
- Engage customers about their drink preferences and tailor suggestions accordingly.
- Providing outstanding customer service according to 203 standards.
- Pro-active in solving customer problems and satisfying customers in various situations.
- Being efficient at communication and open to receiving feedback on ways to grow and improve.
- Adaptability to schedule changes when needed.
- Maintains high cleanliness standards consistently throughout the store in the areas of store appearance, merchandise and equipment.
Qualifications
- Preferred Barista experience and ability to create latte art but willing to train the right candidate.
- High integrity with a great attendance record
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to listen and communicate effectively
- Open to positive/uplifting feedback
- Being able to work independently and keep oneself accountable.
This will be a part time position starting at about 15-20 hours with potential to grow into 25-30 hours a week. Weekends are a must with open availability. We average between $7-$9 in tips an hour at the moment, and we expect this number to settle in the $8-$9 as we continue to see a steady increase in clientele. We are a company that has big goals and will be opening more locations in the future.
