Job Description This position will be within the Research Team at Guardant, and will focus on exploration of novel assays and approaches for detection of cancer at an early stage. We are working at the forefront of scientific and technological innovation, developing novel methodologies that deliver substantial clinical impact to patients. Come join us!
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Analyze NGS data
- Elucidate signals relevant to early cancer detection from large-scale NGS data
- Communicate analysis results to stakeholders across computational and experimental teams
- Contribute to a highly collaborative team, participating in brainstorming sessions and maintaining a motivating work environment
- Develop reproducible analyses for research and development activities
- Provide written documentation and specifications
Qualifications - Currently pursuing a PhD in Bioinformatics or a related field
- Flexibility in responding to new information and adapting analyses accordingly
- Background in statistics / computer science or other quantitative field
- Experience with analysis of genomic and/or epigenomic NGS data
- Proficiency with a high level scripting language (e.g. Python, R)
Additional Information Hybrid Work Model : At Guardant Health, we have defined days for in-person/onsite collaboration and work-from-home days for individual-focused time. All U.S. employees who live within 50 miles of a Guardant facility will be required to be onsite on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. For positions based in Palo Alto, CA or Redwood City, CA, the hourly range for this full-time position is Undergraduate $29/hr., Graduate $34/hr., and Doctorate $42/hr
. The range does not include benefits and, if applicable, overtime, bonus, commission, or equity. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including, but not limited to, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Majority of the work is performed in a desk/office environment; however, there may be exposure to high noise levels, fumes, and biohazard material in the laboratory environment.
