Job description

This team member works within the Sales team. This position is responsible for estimating, pre-engineering and supporting the sales of solution-based products as part of the Sales team. While not directly responsible for generating leads, this position requires someone to take a client’s needs for their facility and translate them into a technical solution/system.

Albireo Energy prides itself in providing customized solutions and the BAS Solutions Engineer will be responsible for working with either the engineer, architect, mechanical contractor, general contractor, or end-user (or all of them) to develop a fully integrated building automation system. In addition to being a solutions developer, this person will do take-offs and estimates for projects, participate in design build proposals, write pre-bid RFIs for projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

• Primary duties and responsibilities
• Support the sales team as the Solutions Engineer for the Building Automation scope of work.
• Develop and maintain an ongoing professional relationship with new or existing Albireo Energy customers
• Engineer systems for end-users or others as part of the overall sales effort
• Participate in the design-build proposal process for new projects in pursuit phase. This can include engineering, writing, and marketing efforts for the building automation scope of work.
• Perform take-off and work with the estimation team to prepare costs of prospective projects and/or service sales opportunities.
• Determine installation labor requirements and if they exceed in-house capabilities coordinate with Operations team to plan for installation subcontract bid packages and obtain subcontract quotations to be used in the cost estimate.
• Prepare sales quotations and proposals – coordinate risk reviews as needed.
• Identify and prepare all necessary bid and proposal documents, e.g. bid forms, bid bonds, affidavits, etc.
• Obtain, assemble, and organize all bid documents, proposal documents, take-offs, material, and subcontract quotations, sketches, notes, and approved sales estimates for turn-over to the operations team
• Keeps superiors informed of significant problems and of progress in reaching established objectives.
• Answers questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
• Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
• Maintain technical competence of company’s products, applications, and services, and professionally represents Albireo Energy in industry associations, professional organization, and affiliations.
• Collaborate on vendor relations with purchasing team with goals to include reaching vendor sales goals
• Follow-up on executed projects to ensure satisfactory approval of design documents and create outstanding customer value.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: Required: Four (4) year college degree or equivalent work experience Preferred: Minimum of one or more years technical sales experience in Inside Sales related to the HVAC, automated controls, or construction management industry. Valid Drivers License with a satisfactory driving record.
