Job description
Duration: 12 Months
- Work in cross-functional teams with multiple disciplines (optical, mechanical, electrical, firmware, etc.) to operate and maintain lab tools and develop processes for the fabrication and measurement of novel optical elements.
- Guidance and direction to be provided by research scientists and optomechanical engineers.
Skills:
- Experience with building, maintaining, and operating precision optical lab systems such as lasers, LEDs, optics, fiber optics, electronics, and mechanical sub- assemblies.
- Background in designing and running experiments with precision optical setups.
- Experience with process design and iterative development, including data acquisition and analysis.
- Ability to communicate highly technical information to and collaborate with a diverse cross functional team.
- Safety conscious: proactive in establishing a safe working environment for themselves and others.
Experience Level:
- >3 years work experience (>=5 preferred).
Knowledge:
- Optical system design and alignment.
- Design of experiments.
- Lab personnel and hardware safety (lasers, ESD, automation, etc.)
- Data analysis using Python or MATLAB.
- Bonus: familiarity with SolidWorks or ZEMAX.
- Bonus: Holographic exposure/interferometry experience.
Skill Required:
- Must have worked in a Lab before.
- Looking for someone to build, align, and take data in a lab environment.
- Hardware experience, Build bench top set ups for prototyping, metrology.
- Strong emphasis on holography exposure experience.
- Optical System.
- Optical System validations.
- Ability to work autonomously. Guidance and documentation is available, but candidate can expect to work autonomously.
