Job description
The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing the accounting, reporting and analysis for the company. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the financial management of the company, including budgeting, forecasting, maintaining the general ledger, and overseeing the financial reporting processes.
- Manage the day-to-day accounting activities in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Prepare financial statements and reports for use by internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop and document accounting processes and procedures.
- Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and trends.
- Assist in developing and executing annual budgets and forecasts.
- Responsible for accuracy of financial reporting.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure timely and accurate month-end close.
- Prepare reconciliations and other analyses needed to support the financial statements.
- Analyze, review, and recommend process and system improvements.
- Assist with special projects and provide ad-hoc reporting.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in an accounting role.
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or equivalent.
- CPA or CMA preferred.
- Excellent knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with ERP systems.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
