Director of Academic Assessment and Accreditation

Administrative Structure:
The individual is an administrator in the Provost's Office and will report to the Assistant Provost of Academic Assessment and Accreditation.
Position Overview:
The individual directs day-to-day assessment and accreditation operations across the University.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the direction and management of the ongoing development of the Office of Assessment and Accreditation
Assist with the collection, management, and analysis of all data related to ongoing continuous quality improvement and assessment cycles university-wide
Facilitate on-going efforts to improve assessment data gathering and reporting and the wider use of college assessment management and data tools
Assist with accreditation workflow and review process with respect to both programmatic and regional accreditation efforts
Review programmatic and institution-level accreditation reports, providing clear and pertinent feedback to stakeholders leading drafting efforts
Provide guidance to faculty in the design and execution of surveys and other evaluation instruments for use in faculty-led assessment initiatives and effectiveness evaluation projects
Participate in Office of Assessment's ongoing research and publishing efforts
Guide committees and directors with planning and coordination of accreditation activities and data sharing systems
Assist in the preparation and presentation of high-impact and influential assessment reports to drive improvement
Maintain all assessment-related software and data systems
Evaluate assessment efforts for academic programs
Assist in the promotion of an institution-wide culture of assessment through consultation and guidance of stakeholders
Collaborate with colleges, committees, divisions, and academic programs in planning and conducting assessments of student learning, goals, and outcomes for both internal and external purposes
Supervise administrative assessment personnel
Assist and train administrative staff in the use of the University's data systems
Partake in other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Graduate degree in education, instructional design, instructional leadership, curricular design, statistics, or other relevant education required
Minimum 7 years' experience in higher education assessment - educational outcomes or assessment experience preferred
Experience in directing an office of academic assessment preferred
Highly developed technical skills, including experience with survey systems and statistical methodology
Ability to collect, analyze, and present data in a cohesive manner
Strong ability to communicate assessment questions, findings, and analysis in a clear and concise manner to inform stakeholders and drive decision making
Ability to work collaboratively with institutional leaders, college faculty, and other stakeholders
Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to communicate on a high level
Strong and effective organizational, leadership, and management skills
Experience with academic accreditation processes
Must be highly developed organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects
Must have the ability to lead an effective team
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the hourly salary for this position is $99,000. St. John's University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
This position may be relocated to any of St. John's University's physical locations at any time.
