Job Description: Maintenance Technician

A Maintenance Technician will have demonstrated work and leadership characteristics required to achieve success in a manufacturing environment. The position demands a self-starting individual capable of working independently on technical/operational projects that involve a broad range of equipment, materials, and procedural issues specific to a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

The following technical experience is required:

• Capable of installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Proficient in reading electrical schematics and familiar with using OEM software for programming.
• Diagnosing and repairing electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems
• Understanding of AC drives, DC drives, PLC ladder logic, and electro-mechanical control systems
• Following diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, manufacturer's instructions and engineering specifications while troubleshooting malfunctions.

Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, and production machines; following electrical diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.

Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.

Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.

Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine equipment process care maintenance techniques.

Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.

Provides mechanical/electrical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.

Job Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree in Electrical or Electro-Mechanical sciences and 5+ years of industrial experience (preferred)
• Analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Good project management and maintenance engineering knowledge
• Experience in using MS Office products such as Word and Excel
