SAIC is seeking a Training Simulation Game Developer to support the US Army Hardware in the loop (HWIL) Aviation Systems contract to develop simulation training video games for maintenance test pilots and ground chiefs.
NOTE: This position is 100%, Full Remote / Work from Home.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Interact with team members, artists, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop products for military and commercial clients utilizing current versions of the Unity game engine
- Provide direction to the game/course design process, from prototype to completion and sustainment
- Be willing to mentor Junior Developers in skills and professional development.
- Design, develop, and test code, fix bugs, and profile and optimize code as directed
- Follow best practices, development processes, and coding standards
- Develop and collaborate on technical designs with other software engineers
- Write efficient code with descriptive comments and maintain attention to detail
- Take ownership of his/her work as a highly motivated self-starter
Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors and five (5)+ years of related experience; additional four (4) years’ of experience accepted in lieu of degree
- Demonstrated experience with and proficiency in Unity Game Engine, C#/C++, and JavaScript is required
- Knowledge of Windows and the Visual Studio IDE
- Understanding of 3D transformation hierarchies
- Experience with 3D game development and design process
- Experience with version control software, such as GitLab (Perforce is a plus)
REQUIRED CLEARANCE:
- Must be able to obtain a full Secret Clearance; Interim Secret required prior to start, SAIC will help to obtain
- Must be a current US Citizen
Target salary range: $75,001 - $100,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
