Receivables Collection Officer

Job description
The Receivable Collection Officer will act as liaison between leadership while protecting the integrity of internal controls in both departments. The Receivable collection Officer will develop and implement the process and procedure to improve operations. This is an in-person role.
This role will act under the direct supervision of the Director of Accounts Receivable and will work collaboratively with all members of the accounting department as well as members from other departments company-wide.
Duties and Responsibilities: - Oversight of AR Specialist/Senior/Supervisors/Manager and their daily workload in NetSuite & 3rd party portals
- Implementation of process and procedure to improve operations
- Ensure associates are trained and are maintaining daily goals
- Periodic review of tasks and other queues, to ensure workflow is routing correctly and completing timely
- Coordinate with internal departments to improve processes and communication
- Manage and develop Manager and Senior specialist
- Provide continual feedback and formal annual review of department
- Manage the hiring, performance improvement, and termination decisions and process for department
- Periodic review and analysis of reports aging, billing, DSO (Days Sales Outstanding, & CEI (Collection Efficiency Index)
- Acts as a point of escalation with complex issues and inquiries
- Builds sustainable relationships and trust by communicating collaboratively with partners, internally and externally
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of accounts receivable experience
- Prior supervisory experience is required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred but comparable business experience also acceptable
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel applications
- Familiarity with internet based accounting systems (NetSuite, 3rd party collection systems) and the waste industry is a plus
- Must enjoy a fast pace working environment, interact well with a diverse group of people as well as be able to demonstrate independent thinking
- Must possess excellent communication and leadership skills
- Professional email and phone etiquette with focus on collaboration and solving complex problems.
