Job description
Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team at our facility located in Melrose Park, IL, 60160. As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining CNC Lathe machines, including both 2-4 axis and 5+ axis models. Your expertise in G-Code programming, machine setups for production runs, and troubleshooting CNC machines will be essential in ensuring the efficient and accurate production of parts.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain CNC Lathe machines, including both 2-4 axis and 5+ axis models
- Program and edit G-Code to control machine operations
- Perform machine setups for production runs, ensuring proper tooling, fixtures, and materials are in place
- Operate Kia CNC lathes with G-code programming
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with CNC machines to minimize downtime
- Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality and productivity
- Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following safety guidelines and protocols
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize production processes
- Document production data, including machine settings, tooling changes, and production counts
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of experience operating CNC machines
- Proficient in G-Code programming and editing
- Strong knowledge of machine setups for production runs
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with CNC machines
- Familiarity with machine brands such as Mazak, Haas, Okuma, and Doosan
- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy materials
