The Accountant - Accounts Payable performs, assigns, and coordinates all work supportive to the control of Accounts Payable which is moderately complex and responsible.
Reports To AP Manager
Salary Secretarial ? Clerical Salary Schedule - Level 9 Step 1
($45,795.24/Annually)
Qualifications High School Diploma or GED; five years of accounting or accounts payable support experience including Enterprise Resource Planning Software (Munis) as well as SchoolCashNet preferred.
Customer and Personal Service ? Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
Performing Administrative Activities ? Performing day to day administrative tasks such as maintaining information files and processing paperwork.
Clerical ? Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as excellent typing, word processing, spreadsheet skills, managing files and records, and other office procedures and terminology.
Organizational Ability ? The ability and willingness to organize and utilize resources and achieve results
Workflow Management ? The ability and willingness to perform work within defined specifications and timelines and to manage conflicting priorities.
Stakeholder Relations ? The ability and willingness to interreact and communicate effectively with stakeholders (i.e. schools, departments, vendors), responding to all questions, concerns, and inquiries in a timely and efficient manner.

Essential Job Functions 1. Perform tasks that establish and maintain accounts payable records
2. Responsible for the timely and accurate entry into Munis system of all School District obligations, including but not limited to travel requests, employee reimbursements, and petty cash reimbursements.
3. Create and maintain batches for all travel, employee reimbursement, and petty cash reimbursement
4. Audit submissions for accuracy
5. Review and approve mileage and other reimbursables.
6. Works closely with schools and principals to reconcile petty cash accounts
7. Maintain and create Control Groups for all vouchers entered into the system to be reviewed by the AP Manager and Controller?s Office
8. Prepares, maintains and revises files and retrieves information
9. Demonstrates appropriate communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to analyze and recommend changes in clerical procedure
10. Performs related duties as required
Additional Job Information Physical Demands: This position is primarily sedentary in nature. Employee will be required to operate computer system for data entry, and have the ability to complete necessary paperwork. This position requires minimum physical effort and not subjected to Occupational Health and Safety risks. Work Environment:
1. Indoors in busy office, working in close proximity to co-worker
2. Frequently required to work at fast pace
3. Requires considerable concentration and creativity.
