Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Technical Writer to join our team in Charleston, SC with the possibility to work Hybrid.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Creating, maintaining, and updating comprehensive technical documentation critical to the project's success.
Producing a wide range of materials, including detailed user manuals, system administration guides, protocol documents, and help files. These documents will support the implementation and ongoing maintenance of our systems and will be essential for both technical staff and end-users.
Accessing manufacturer ; catalogs, drawings and other data relative to operation, maintenance, and service of equipment, and may have access to blueprints, sketches, drawings, parts lists, specifications, mockups, and product samples to integrate and delineate technology operating procedure, and production sequence and detail.
Collaborating with system engineers, developers, and other technical team members to understand the intricacies and requirements of the project.
Reviewing and revising content to ensure its accuracy and relevance.
Proofreading documents to maintain clarity and grammatical correctness.
Managing the organization and distribution of all documentation, making sure it is easily accessible to all team members and stakeholders.
Basic Qualifications:
A minimum of four (4) years revising or writing standardized material reports, manuals, briefs, proposals, instruction books, catalogs, and related technical and administrative publications
Associate degree OR seven High School Diploma or GED and seven (7) years revising or writing standardized material reports, manuals, briefs, proposals, instruction books, catalogs, and related technical and administrative publications.
Security Clearance Requirements: Active DoD Secret Security clearance
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
Often positions self to maintain computers in the lab, including under the desks and in the server closet.
Frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve
delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
May be asked to move Audio/Visual or Computer equipment.
