CRP Quality Technician - 3rd Shift

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Supports Engineers in carrying out production-related and inspection jobs; assists in monitor materials quality in processing plants and making the required adjustments; ensures maintenance of documentation and records.
Works under minimal supervision.
Compares the physical characteristics of components, materials, equipment, and products to technical specifications to identify defects.
Conducts simple tests (for example on electrical function, reliability, packaging quality).
Records results and prepare simple technical reports.
Provides product and component testing using a range of measurement equipment.
Provides advanced programming, training, and operation of measurement and test equipment.
Assists customers in understanding/interpreting product specifications and application of measurement data.
Participates in measurement uncertainty studies for measurements associated with measurement or calibration results.
Ensures proper maintenance and calibration of the measurement and test equipment.

Measurement Science - Analyzes measurement processes throughout the relevant traceability chain to identify and quantify sources of measurement uncertainty relevant to the appropriate applied measurement science, “Metrology” e.g. Chemical, Dimensional, Electrical, Mechanical, Optical and Radiation and Physical.
Laboratory Management - Leads technical resources while managing the business aspects of a laboratory using measure to control both the technical and business aspects of the organization and assuring the requirements of the appropriate certifications and/or accreditations are met.
Quality Process Management - Applies and manages methods (e.g. SPC, Capability studies, Layered Process Audit, inspection, test) to ensure quality of Cummins products, processes, and services.
Education, Licenses, Certifications
High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience
Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.
Additional Description:
Interface with Engineers and Technicians to determine root cause of failures
Interface with Supplier Quality on issues that are Supplier related
Perform Material Review, gaging, identification of parts, and perform disposition
Participate in cross-functional teams to support corrective actions.
Be a champion of the Fall-out Review Process
Perform Failsafe verifications and audits
Issue MNC’s and PNC’s as appropriate to the responsible parties
Provide data for reports and reviews as needed
Other duties per Manager's direction
Additional Skills:
Part print reading, GD&T
Proficiency in MS Office
Database management (Quality Management System examples: DMS, CQMS, LPA)

Quality Champion Program Graduates (preferred, not required)
Turbocharger product knowledge; (Preferred)
Turbocharger Salvage / Assembly process knowledge; (Preferred)
Experience in Remanufacturing / ReCon is a plus.
Material Science / Metallurgy knowledge is a plus.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to stand and walk continuously over a 12-hour shift.
Must be able to walk from operations area to designated fire exits, meetings areas, etc up to 1280 feet.
Must push/pull wheeled carts requiring up to 85lb for
Occasionally team-lift parts over 50 lbs. Frequent walking, pushing, kneeling, stooping, bending, & squatting. May be required to operate PIVs on a limited basis.
Ability & willingness to be flexible with job responsibilities (support new/other areas of the business), working hours, or shifts (flex between 1st & 3rd shift) to support meeting customer needs, team goals & business needs.

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
