Job description

Position Summary

The Physical Therapist Assistant is responsible for providing Physical Therapy treatment under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist • Demonstrates ability to appropriately treat patients according to professional standards of practice. Interpersonal communication skills include the ability to coordinate patient care with other team members, and counsel patients and their families. This will be mostly for weekends and coverage for vacation and call outs.

Responsibilities

Works with patients who have impairments, limitations, disabilities, or changes in physical function and health status resulting from injury, disease or other causes. The Physical Therapist role includes examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis and interventions
toward achieving the highest functional outcomes for each patient or client.
• Evaluates patients, gathering data from the patient, the physician, interdisciplinary team meetings if available, family and
significant other persons and data sources.
• Develops treatment plans which integrate with the continuum of care and have specific goals and objectives and treats
accordingly.
• Demonstrates competency in the use, care and maintenance of profession specific equipment, observing safety precautions and
providing verbal explanations of the equipment and its purpose


Qualifications

Education/Training
Bachelor's degree or higher from an approved program in physical therapy.
Licensure/Certification
• Maintains current Physical Therapist license in the State of Florida. Temporary permit acceptable.
• Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification.
