Thies & Talle Management Inc., a leading property management company with nearly forty years of experience in the multi-housing industry, has an opening for a Part-time, roughly 20 hours per week, Leasing Specialist at our apartment community located in Rapid City, SD. Duties include rental, resident relations and general administrative duties. Must have good communication and customer service skills, basic computer skills, be well organized and detail oriented. Prior sales, retail or property leasing experience a plus! Must be able to multi-task in a busy office atmosphere. Wage depends on experience. Some evenings and most Saturdays required. SUMMARY : The Affordable Leasing Specialist is responsible for showing and leasing apartments or townhouses to prospective tenants, assisting with other office-related duties, and maintain Section 8 compliance. They will work closely with the Thies and Talle property manager.

The Leasing Specialist reports to the Property Manager. The Leasing Specialist does not supervise other employees.
Job Requirements
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS : To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and Experience. High school diploma. Combination of education and experience with affordable housing, government subsidy programs, administration or other relevant education or experience is preferred. Previous computer experience is preferred.
- Language Skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret government regulations and internal company policies. This position works closely with the Property Manager and needs to be able to communicate with them on a wide variety of issues.
- Mathematical Skills: Good understanding of math equations up to algebra level.
- Reasoning Ability: Must have attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Other Skills/Abilities/Specifications: Excellent people and organizational skills are required. Listening and the ability to communicate effectively to residents and applicants is essential. Time management is essential. Must be self-motivated and able to work independently. Confidentiality is a must.
PUNCTUALITY AND ATTENDANCE: Regular attendance, reliability, and punctuality are needed to be available to respond to other employees and complete their job duties in a timely manner.
WORKING CONDITIONS: The working condition characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing essential functions of this job.
