Job description

The Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS) is the state’s largest secretariat and services over 2 million people through its 22,000 employees and oversees expenditures of $22 billion annually. The mission of EOHHS is to promote the health, resilience, and independence of nearly one in every three residents of the Commonwealth we serve. Our public health programs touch every community in the Commonwealth.

EOHHS is seeking a highly motivated and forward-thinking Chief Strategy & Operations Officer to spearhead our IT strategy and operational excellence across the organization. This senior leadership position is aimed at an individual with a visionary outlook, capable of navigating the complexities of a fast-paced environment, with a keen focus on aligning IT initiatives with the broader EOHHS objectives.

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a strong background in strategy and operations, excellent financial acumen, and strong leadership and communication skills. Key responsibilities include assisting in developing and implementing the IT strategy, managing the IT portfolio, overseeing the budget and capital management process, leading the IT Project Management Office (PMO) Center of Excellence. They will be collaborating with stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and execution of these processes across the organization. The Chief Strategy & Operations Officer will play a pivotal role in centralizing and providing oversight over key areas vital to achieving the strategic objectives of the organization. Reporting directly to the Secretariat Chief Information Officer (SCIO), this role is a unique opportunity to shape the future of IT within EOHHS, ensuring its alignment with our mission and strategic goals.

The primary work location for this role will be 178 Albion Street, Wakefield, Massachusetts 01880 . The work schedule for this position is Monday thru Friday, 9:00AM to 5:00PM EST . This position would be expected to follow a hybrid model of reporting to work that combines in-office workdays and work from home days as needed. Occasional local travel may be required.

Qualifications


MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS:


Applicants must have at least (A) seven (7) years of full-time or, equivalent part-time, professional, administrative, supervisory, or managerial experience in IT administration or IT management, of which (B) at least four (4) years must have been in a managerial capacity.
