Job description
Summary
The Vessel Engineer designs, models, and provides technical support to users of Dearing ’ s engineered products. Recipients of this support shall include Dearing production, field service personnel, 3rd party design firms and/or end users (customers). The Vessel Engineer is responsible for ensuring units satisfy the applicable codes and customer specifications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Review customer specifications.
- Generate, review, and approve ASME vessel drawings.
- Run ASME code calculations utilizing COMPRESS software.
- Generate, review, and approve vessel bill of materials.
- Work with vendors to source, review and approve equipment needed for projects.
- Interact with customers and 3rd party design firms on drawing approvals.
- Participate in project design reviews, standards reviews, and engineering meetings.
- Provide support to supply chain department.
- Provide technical support to production, field service, 3rd party design firms and end users, assisting with problems encountered in production and in the field.
- Participate in customer visits, shop tours, test, and conference calls.
- Work with quality control providing support and documentation for in-process and completed units.
- Carry out Responsible Charge duties, as required by ASME.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering. 2 to 4 years of related experience preferred.
