SUMMARY : Provide professional development and support to Early Childhood and elementary Special Educators and related services staff on the utilization of assessment information to drive instruction, best practices for instruction in an early childhood setting, progress monitoring tools and utilization, IEP compliance in an early childhood setting.  Provide guidance and support on the development and implementation of high quality specialized programming at the early childhood level.  Provide training and support on determination of eligibility for students in early childhood or primary grades in elementary schools. Support the development of a continuum of services for early childhood and elementary settings.  Collaborate regularly with ECE/elementary Special Education teams and leadership to ensure the implementation of high quality and instructionally sound early childhood special education programming.  Provide advocacy and guidance to district leadership under the supervision of the Executive Director of Special Populations.

EDUCATION AND RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE:

• Must be a minimum of 18 years old.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in early childhood special education.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS or CERTIFICATIONS:

• Must possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate Colorado Educator License. 
• Must possess any one of the following Endorsements:
  • Special Education Generalist
  • Special Education Specialist
• Preference given to candidates with ELL Training and/or an ESL or (LDE) Linguistically Diverse Education Endorsement.
• Criminal background check required for hire.

SALARY INFORMATION (FOR EXTERNAL CANDIDATES):

All salary placement on our Certified Salary schedule is dependent on the employees’ education and/or work experience. Certified/licensed employees will be granted one (1) year for each full year of contractual and/or work experience up to a maximum of ten (10) years, which includes in-district and out-of-district contractual teaching and/or work experience. Responsibility for verification of outside experience shall rest with the individual employee. For further explanation of salary placement please refer to our Certified Master Agreement that can be found on our district website.
