Basic Function:

The Higher Education Administration and Student Affairs program faculty announces the availability of a 9-month tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, with an August 2024 start date.

Examples of Duties:

Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following: 

The successful candidate will teach program core and elective courses, as well as the potential to teach other courses to be developed by the successful candidate. The new faculty member will also be expected to advise students in the Higher Education Administration and Student Affairs M.Ed. and Ph.D. programs; chair and serve on dissertations; develop and maintain a strong record of scholarship in higher education; participate in the leadership of the program (e.g., recruitment and admissions, curriculum development, planning, possible coordination of a certificate); serve on department, college, and university committees; and participate in the activities of relevant professional organizations (e.g., ASHE, ACPA, NASPA, CIES, NAFSA, AERA).

Minimum Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have:

An earned doctorate in higher education administration, student affairs, or a closely related field. We are only considering applicants who have been awarded their doctorate prior to applying.

Potential for or demonstrated success in teaching (hybrid, face-to-face, and online courses) and contributing to academic program development at the graduate level

Record of or demonstrated potential for research productivity in the form of peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations

Knowledge and utilization of qualitative research methods

Mid-level to senior-level higher education and student affairs administrative experience

Strong collegial, communication, and collaborative teamwork skills

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:

Light work-Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Incumbent must be able to communicate with others. Incumbent may be required to travel from building to building frequently and off campus occasionally.
