Job description

OSEH Inc. is currently looking for a talented and experienced Civil Engineer to join our growing team in Chicago, Illinois.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:

Use manuals, guidance, standards, and engineering judgment to provide infrastructure solutions on regional transportation projects.

Preparing design concept drawings and ideas for discussion and conceptual development. Preparing detail drawings that require a degree of technical design utilizing knowledge of relevant design principles

Manage and review engineered drawings, submittals, deliverables, and other documents for consistency with work scope, assessing conformance to contract specifications, and resolving any conflicts in interpretation. Overseeing and ensuring all drawings and specifications properly relate to the project requirements.

Traffic studies and traffic analysis using HCS, Synchro and other traffic modelling software as necessary.

Facilitate OSEH Inc.s quality control procedure for deliverable generation, archiving, and distribution/transmittal.

Ensure field trip reports and meeting minutes are completed accurately and in a timely manner.

Other duties as assigned

The ideal candidate for this position possesses the following requirements:

1 to 3 years of experience in the transportation engineering marketplace

EIT registration is required. Licensed Professional Engineer is preferred.

Working knowledge of industry safety standards, guidelines, and specification codes

Strong communication and inter-personal skills are required to provide effective coordination on projects, as well as effective communication with clients and vendors. Ability to work seamlessly with the project team, including other OSEH staff, clients, and sub-consultants.

Must be organized, self-directed, able to prioritize and multi-task, work in a team environment and take direction from others. Must possess strong time management and attention to detail

Must have experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microstation.

Must be knowledgeable in transportation design standards including AASHTO design guidelines

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $55,000.00 per year

We are currently working a hybrid schedule.
