Electronic Service Technician
Job description
We are seeking a Service Technician who wants to travel the world (50%+ global travel). We will train the candidate to install, troubleshoot, and repair high-tech systems at our global customers. A candidate would also perform preventive maintenance on systems we have sold throughout the world.
Job Details
Reporting: This position reports to the VP of Sales and Service.
Objective: Provide in-house (factory) and customers' plant site (field) service covering repairs and calibrations of all products.
Responsibilities:
Assure quality of service using established procedures.
Perform various assignments associated with the repair and calibration of equipment both in-house (factory) and at the customers' plant site (field).
Assist in collecting and recording data associated with identifying customers, customer complaints, and general customer contacts.
Complete service reports and expense reports accurately and timely.
Conduct failure analysis and complete failure analysis reports accurately and timely.
Respond to customer needs and requests on time. Help organize, equip, and train authorized service centers and service representatives.
Help assemble, organize, and promote service products to sales channels and customers.
Help manage in-house (factory) service and customers' plant site (field) service activities.
Ensure service equipment, instruments, and tools are calibrated and maintained, as appropriate.
Maintain and follow established ISO 9001 Certified Quality Management System.
Desired Qualifications:
Minimum two-year technical degree or equivalent
Ability to be trained on our equipment and specifications
Troubleshooting, electrical, electronic, and electromechanical skills
Sound technical judgment
Strong customer relations/people skills
Ability to work independently
Training to Be Provided By Us:
ISO 9001 Awareness
Hand soldering (certification available as needed)
Other special process training (e.g. multimeter/oscilloscope use), as appropriate
Quality Management System (certification available as needed)
Safety for both in-house (factory) service and customers' plant site (field) service (certification to be provided after completion of training)
