The Citylight South Worship Director will primarily lead the church in song on Sunday mornings, care for the volunteers on the team, and continue to make disciples in the life of the church.

Character Requirements:
–       Evidence of God’s work in changing their life revealing how the Spirit is at work in their hearts making them more like Christ. 1 Tim. 4:7 “Discipline yourself for the purpose of Godliness.”
–       The Worship Director must be able to handle the Word of God with reverence and respect as they teach from the word. When working with others, the must also show humility to learn from those around them and be sharpened.
–       Action oriented, works hard and enjoys working hard, and can self-start on different project and leading the ministry to continue to develop and grow.
–       Being on a team will lead to disagreement at some point. We understand that we are all broken sinners. When moments of disagreements arrive, the team member must be able to approach those around them and properly disagree or share hurt to resolve conflict.
–       We have a great mandate to run after in pursuing the lost and making disciples. This is central to not only every staff member, but to every Christian. The Worship Director must have a heart for making disciples.
–       A teachable spirit, that is open to constructive guidance and encouragement as a leader.

Competencies Required:
–       Vocally proficient and able to lead musical worship with guitar or keyboard.
–       Able to examine song lyrics to properly lead the church in Biblically sound worship.
–       leadership qualities in previous ministries, employment, and more specifically has led worship and rehearsals before.
–       able to build strong relationships
–       run worship auditions
–       ProPresenter, Planning Center, and Sound board knowledge is helpful as the position will teach the tech team on how to properly run equipment.
–       Capable of engaging and leading the church on a Sunday morning by welcoming into them into the worship, reading from the scriptures, and teaching for moments of Call to Worship.
–       Able to function as a team member contributing to the overall morale and strength of the team.
–       Gives away leadership and empowers others to lead.
–       Alignment with church doctrine and philosophy of ministry

Role and responsibilities:
–       Work with the Lead Pastors in directing the Sunday morning gatherings to ensure a Christ centered worship gathering for all who attend.
–       Plan and prepare the weekly musical worship including scheduling band, slides, and sound tech along with weekly rehearsal.
–       Recruit, develop, and shepherd members of the church who serve within the ministry. This includes creating opportunities for volunteers to lead as we seek to raise up the body.
–       Help serve the church with other events where musical worship might be needed including weddings, funerals, etc.
–       Ensure that all AV equipment is functioning properly
Manage and wisely steward the worship budget
