We are growing our team and have an opportunity available for a full-time Project Manager to oversee the planning, development, and completion of partner projects to drive protein therapeutics from discovery to preclinical development.
Responsibilities: Business Development/Project Planning
- Assist in generating Statements of Work (SOWs) including project scope, budget, resourcing, and timelines for partner projects in collaboration with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
- Manage approvals for SOWs across functional teams, legal, and finance departments.
- Help establish and maintain Project Management software, ensuring its continual update and utilization across all projects.
Budget and Resource Management
- In collaboration with the finance team and technical team leaders, outline budget and resource projections upon project initiation.
- Monitor project budgets, resources, and risks generating comprehensive summary reports for review by the finance team, technical team leaders, and management team.
- Implement risk management strategies and ensure risk management plans are in place and regularly evaluated.
Project Execution
- Assist technical team leader with scheduling, recording meeting notes and action items discussed during meetings with partners as needed.
- Identify out-of-scope activities and draft additional SOWs and amendments as needed.
- Revise project plans in collaboration with technical leads to ensure project alignment and success.
Client Management
- Regularly interface with technical project leads, functional team leaders, and clients to discuss ongoing and upcoming projects.
- Prepare regular project status reports with regards to milestones, budgets, and resourcing.
- Identify areas of process improvement and apply learnings to future projects.
- Effectively communicate project-related technicalities and costs with clients while understanding and articulating the technical aspects of the projects.
Process Establishment
- Assist in establishing streamlined project management and business development processes and contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree (MS or Ph.D. preferred) in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical biology, or related field with 6+ years of industry experience is required.
- 2+ years of industry experience as a Project Manager with relevant certifications (e.g., PMP) is desired.
- Prior experience in a CRO/partner environment is desirable, showcasing familiarity with collaborative settings and an understanding of the dynamics involved in managing external relationships and projects.
- Demonstrated experience with Project Management software.
- Proficiency in Risk Management methodologies and implementation.
- Proven track record in business development and process establishment within a similar industry.
- Effective time and resource management skills and an enthusiasm for working in a team environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to identify creative solutions to challenging problems.
This is a full-time position on site in Boulder, CO.
Compensation Range: $80,000 - $110,000
