Job description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Project Accountant to join our team. As a Project Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial success and compliance of our projects. You will be responsible for analyzing project budgets, invoices, and forecasts to meet contractual requirements, contributing to the overall efficiency and profitability of our operations.
Minimum/General Experience:
5 - 7 years of general accounting/financial support experience
3 years of program financial support experience
Minimum Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field
Essential Skills/Qualifications:
Expertise in project financial functions including budgeting, auditing, forecasting, and analysis
Proficiency in Unanet Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
Deep understanding of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation (DFAR)
Strong grasp of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)
Knowledge of contract design and structure, including various procurement types
Familiarity with contract compliance
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and SharePoint
Exceptional attention to detail
Ability to multitask in a dynamic small business environment
Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
Security Requirements:
U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident status
Ability to handle personal identifiable information (PII) and controlled unclassified information (CUI)
Must be able to maintain or obtain clearance at the Federal Civilian Public Trust and/or Department of Defense Secret level as required by contract
Tasks/Activities Include, but are not Limited to:
Complex analysis of project budgets and schedules
Coordination, negotiation, and resolution of project financial compliance issues
Monitoring financial accounts and project spending
Generating project financial reports
Tracking subcontractor funding allocations
Maintaining internal controls and policies
Conducting project baseline planning and cost analysis
Supporting business development pricing and proposal preparation
