Position Summary:

Under the general supervision of the UWO Fox Cities/Fond du Lac Facilities Managers, this position installs, maintains, and repairs environmental control or refrigeration equipment to ensure proper operation of equipment for both campuses. May direct the work of other staff performing routine maintenance and repair functions.

Must pass a pre-work screen to ensure the ability to perform essential physical functions of the position. Must have a valid WI driver’s license (or the ability to obtain one) and be authorized to drive a university vehicle upon appointment. This position will require a criminal background investigation.

Responsibilities

Monitors, tests, maintains, and repairs Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems, related equipment, and controls according to established policies and procedures

Receives, prioritizes, and responds to service requests according to established timelines and policies

Identifies, prioritizes, troubleshoots, and escalates system problems, equipment malfunctions, and repair needs

Performs scheduled preventative and routine maintenance and documents activity on equipment and systems to ensure optimal and safe operation

Develops and schedules operational work plans for staff occasionally



Qualifications



Required:

Essential functions and responsibilities of the position must be able to be performed with or without a reasonable accommodation.




Preferred:

Ability to enter, exit, and perform duties in confined spaces when performing assignments.
EPA Type I, II, III or Universal Certifications
North American Technician Excellence (NATE) Certification
OSHA 30 Hour
Certified Electrical Safety Technician (CEST) Certification

Completion of an accredited technical, vocational and/or apprenticeship program, or a minimum of 6 years work experience in building maintenance or building trades, such as plumbing, heating, air conditioning and refrigeration, welding and electrical work.

2 years’ experience working with a Direct Digital Control (DDC) software program.
