Job description

Position Summary:

◆ Identify, develop and implement human resources programs to support the company’s mission and business plan

◆ Lead and develop HR team

◆ HR consultant to executive team

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

◆ Maintain accurate and thorough understanding of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions.

◆ Capability to coach/counsel managers and employees to modify behavior and results.

◆ Conduct investigations as needed, including conducting interviews, gathering relevant information, analyzing data and developing a resolution

◆ Develop relationships with business partners and provide consultation on all employee matters.

◆ Ensures accurate and timely payment and reporting of compensation payable to employees, including union and prevailing wage requirements

◆ Ensures payroll tax reporting and remittance are timely and in compliance with applicable federal, state and local tax laws.

◆ Develops and implements appropriate payroll and benefits related policies and procedures.

◆ Ensures corporate policies are properly administered and new policies are adequately documented and communicated across the Company.

◆ Manages processes to increase the efficiency of the department while maintaining an effective internal control structure with self- audit procedures that will ensure the consistent application of payroll policies.

◆ Ability to translate company operational procedures and practices into written policy.

◆ Ability to develop and implement recruiting and retention programs.

◆ Plan and manage onboarding and new hire orientation.

◆ Review and recommend changes to current compensation practices.

◆ Ensure proper management and maintenance of employee data within the HRIS systems.

◆ Assist in the management of and appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.

◆ Coach management on handling performance and disciplinary issues with their employees.

◆ Manage exit interviews process.

◆ Partners with various internal departments including accounting, operations, and legal

◆ Develops effective means of communication with associates at all levels across the business to build a relationship of trust and respect

◆ Special projects, as assigned

◆ Flexibility to work overtime hours on weekly basis and travel as needed

◆ All other duties as assigned

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

◆ Pre-employment background check and drug test

◆ At least ten years of progressive HR management experience

◆ Bachelor degree in Human Resources or related field highly preferred

◆ PHR or SPHR certification preferred.

◆ Strong knowledge of all facets of human resources administration: federal, state & local labor laws, employee relations, compensation, benefits, performance management, training and development.

◆ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all levels of internal & external staff.

◆ Strong PC skills, proficient in MS Office, and knowledgeable of HRIS/Payroll systems.

◆ Detail oriented, with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

◆ Strong organizational skills and research skills.

◆ Strong customer service skills.

◆ Union and prevailing wage experience a plus.

◆ Spanish language skills preferred

◆ Able to effectively work in a fast-paced environment and display a sense of urgency.

◆ Function with little supervision. Be an effective team player.

◆ High energy, self-motivated, service-oriented and ethical with a high degree of integrity

Working Conditions and Environment

◆ Must be able to work independently.

◆ Must be able to move around the office up to 20% of the time to make copies, fax, file, etc.

◆ This position operates computers and other office productivity machines (e.g., fax machine, copier, printer, etc.) on a regular basis. This position must be able to inspect and

observe information on a computer screen at least 80% of the time.

◆ This position requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

◆ This position requires constant communication and exchange of information with the Company’s employees, clients, vendors and/or contractors.

◆ Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.

◆ Must be a citizen of this country or possess a valid work permit.
